I remember when I was a kid in the '60s, my mother used to shop at Krogers for one reason only...
To get Top Value Stamps.
I remember she used to get the stamps after every purchase and put them in a savers book. She would then redeem the books for everything from a toaster to toys for us kids. I remember the little yellow and red stamps as if it was yesterday.
There was even a redemption center on 7th and Broadway, downtown.
Isn't it amazing what one can recall from yesteryear and how soon we forget what we did just this morning?
