When I was a kid in the early 1970's. I attended a church called Stoner Memorial AME Zion Church.
I was a member of the Young Adult Choir, and we were pretty good.
One of the songs we sang was "Beams Of Heaven", and today is an appropriate day for it...

Beams of heaven, as I roam
through this wilderness here below
Guide my feet in peaceful ways
Turn my midnights into days.
When in the darkness I would grope
Faith always sees, a ray of hope.
And soon from all lifes griefs and dangers,
I shall be free...be free someday.
I do not know how long twill be
or what the future holds for me
But this I know...if Jesus leads me,
I will get home...get home someday.
