I remember as a child all the joy and happiness that came along with the Chrustmas Holiday.
The spirit, neighbors joyfully saying "Merry Christmas" to one another. The brightly decorated houses.
I remember going to the old Haymarket with my father to pick out a tree...the smell of the pine...
I remeber getting tons of Christmas cards in the mail and helping Mama hang them up around the doorway in the living room.
I remember going shopping with the family and sitting in Santa's lap to tell him that I wanted a bike and a new "Curious George" book.
Those were the times.
Nowadays I am having trouble finding the spirit. I know times are tough and are probably gonna get much tougher. The clerks in the store don't say "Merry Christmas" anymore. It's all about making money and not the spirit anymore.
Sad...
