I live in a one bedroom apartment and it is not huge...just big enough for all my crap.
I wanted to buy a new sofa but I settled on a brand new black leather...
Futon.
It is the most comfortable piece of furniture I have ever had in my life!
It also folds out into a bed for when the grandkids come over...perfect.
I have fell asleep on it myself a few times.
