A friend reminded me yesterday of the power of music. "There's nothing else like music ..." she said, "Music can open up emotions we didn't know we had..."
How true.
I could probably name a song that reminds me of every important thing in my life. "Tonight is the Night", by Betty Wright was playing on the record player the first time I made love..."Forever" was played when my daughter got married and I walked her down the aisle. "Slow Jam", by Prince was playing when I first fell in love...and another Prince song (hummm, you think I like that guy?) was blasting on the car stereo when I taking my wife to the hospital to have my first child...the song was, ummm..."Cream".
I didn't say the songs had to make sense. Hmmm...this concept could make an excellent coffee table book...
