I was watching a movie the other day about the rock fest, "Woodstock."
I carried actual footage of the bands and also other stories about feeding the throng of over 400,000, interviews with the cleaning crew and producers of the show.
It was primarily about the music.
With bands like Santana, Ritchie Havens, Joan Baez, Crosby Stills and Nash, Sly ans the Family Stone and the great Jimi Hendrix...
All I can say is "Have Mercy!"
When Jimi performed "The Star Spangled banner...I got chills up my spine. Remarkable!
The fest was in 1969 and this film was released in 1970. It is normally played on VHI Classic.
It is an amazing three hour show.
